PalenQ-not sure what the ttt means-sorry maybe you can explain?
love-I just checked out the Sallerhof & it looks just like what we would enjoy. I love the way all of those little village inns put their family picture on the web page-makes it a lot more personal! Thanks for the rec! If we end up staying there, I will mention that they were recommended to me by a "Fodorite" from So. Australia!

The Riding School website

I ordered tickets about 3 weeks prior to the performance. But, there wasn't a seat empty at performance time.
For the VBC we went to a Sunday morning service. We arrived about 90 minutes prior to the start of Mass and were one of the first in line.
For the opera, again it was the same day as the performance. We first walked by about 2 hours prior to curtain time and there were only a few people in line. Half an hour later, the line was much longer and we decided to join the line. Shortly after that, line line grew rapidly. I thin it depends on the the day of the week and the performance.

It's Fodorese for taking to top or 'topping' a thread to bring it back to the top after it has sunk into Fodor's blackhole - so that others can see the title again and comment. I did it because I was interested in the topic as well.

Oh PalenQ-sorry for such a dumb question! I guess I gave myself up for an amateur to Fodors just that quickly. I have seen it on other posts but never bothered to find out what it meant.
While I have your ear, can you pass along any info to me about the places you stayed in Salzburg or the Salzkammergut region that you enjoyed & what activities/sights in that area would be worth our time(besides Halstatt that is-that is a must-do for us).

One thing to consider is a Mozart dinner concert. It's fun. You sit at a table of eight and meet people from other countries while listening to a good concert in an elegant setting. Yes, it's for tourists, that's what we are. http://www.salzburg-concerts.com/nc/...r-concert/home

iris-thanks so much for recommending this-it sounds like something we would enjoy. My wife is especially personable & enjoys meeting new people and we both have a great love for classical music. Thank goodness one of our daughters is studying music & aspires to be a professional musician(clarinet). It has really brought classical music to the forefront of our lives!
Any other ideas for us would be greatly appreciated.

Hello again all & once again I thank you for your time in answering. My wife has decided that she does definitely want to take a few days for Salzburg/Halstatt/Salzkammergut region(before or after visiting Vienna) & I am also wondering if anyone of you has visited Zell am See. I have read about it(and pictures are beautiful) & sounds like it might interest us as well or should we just stick with Salz/Hal/Salz?
