I think my problem (besides being slightly obsessed with..."you know who" ) is that I KNOW this is going to be my last trip to Europe. So I am trying to cram too much in and over planning completely. I have about 100 websites saved to my "favorites" and it is just getting way out of control.

I am almost (but not quite) to the point where I want to delete all those websites, erase all my notes, never think about this forum again (yeah right! ) and just say "forget it! I'm not going!" ... but that will never happen. I seriously need to stop this insanity for a few months though. I can pick it up again in December.

FromAtlanta... love all your smileys. What do you mean it's your last trip to Europe... say it ain't so.

I know what you mean about that a little... my parents are coming with us on this trip and she keeps saying things like we won't ever do this again. Who knows. Maybe we will?

Have a good time. One thing in all this is I have to remember the vibe I get into after about a week in Italy... after I've begun to deprogram and destress... is just ENJOY the trip, no matter what you do, no matter where you are... just enjoy your company, enjoy the moment, taste and hear and smell and see as much as you can, and relax.

Easier said than done, and of course... and my advanced preparation is not an indication of this motto. But once I am there I pretty much TRY to chill out!

Kat,

Glad you like my smilies (I'm still trying to figure out how to do most of them - someone should put an emoticon thread on here and show us how to do it )

Anyway, I WISH i could say "it aint so" about being my last trip ... but I just don't think my health is going to allow it anymore. (especially because I INSIST on traveling solo - no one to carry my bags, no one to help me when I get a brain splitting headache and start vomiting, no one to help me all the times I get "mental fog" and can't follow simple directions-wandering around looking for your B&B that you have already been in for 2 nights is NOT fun ) - Sorry. Didn't mean to get so graphic. I'm in a silly mood tonight ... I'm not throwing a pity party. I have fibromyalgia. It is a fact. - I've been to Europe 2x already though, I certainly CAN'T COMPLAIN!

... Of course, if you read my thread about "Funny Travel Experiences" you will read how I got to ride the Eurostar 1st Class Being sick has advantages too!!

I'm very very strange. I know.

fromatlanta - never say never. never give up. too depressing to contemplate.

add me to the "Colin Firth is the Sexiest Man Alive" club.

I'm also partial to Ralph Fiennes - thus The English Patient was a little slice of heaven.
