Planning my trip in vienna
Hi, I will go with my wife to vienna next July for 6 days. I'm still hesitate about our schedule where to go exactly?? It is our first time their, we will arrive on Thursday 21th afternoon. I was thinking to stay about 2 days in vienna then go to prague by train for 2 days then returning to bratislava for 1 day or salzbug ?? Still not sure...
What do you advice us? What is best plan ? Our favorite are historical places, arts, culture, open green areas and shopping..
Thanks in advance

Given your interests, you can easily spend 6 days in Wien without getting bored. If you want to see a second city, a daytrip to Bratislava would be the easiest thing to do.
Otherwise Praha is in reach, although you will spent two half days on the train - that means you will be losing 1/6 of your total time just for sitting in trains.
Also, Salzburg is a pretty long train ride from Wien and I am not sure if it is worth it.
Hence, my recommendations:
a) 5 full days in Wien, 1 daytrip to Bratislava
b) 4 full days in Wien, 1 daytrip to Bratislava and 1 daytrip to Salzburg
c) 3 full days in Wien, 3 days in Praha (minus 2 half days for travelling)

Perhaps, I wasn't crazy about Vienna and have many of those same interests, 6 days would have been far too many for my taste.
The problem is Prague is rather far away to split things up that way if you are returning at the end of the trip. If you depart for home from Prague, I think it would be okay.
So I would agree with (c) above, or at least 2 days Vienna, 1 day Bratislava, 3 days Prague.
Logistically, I think you can get by train from either Vienna or Bratislava to Prague fairly easily, not so from Salzburg.

Thank you both for your advice. In fact, I think choice C is more convenient. Point is we will return back home from vienna, that is why I thought to put prague trip in the middle of our journey and bratislava at end.
Regarding Prague, do you have suggestions for shopping e.g. Outlets. I was planning to make shopping from one out let near bratislava. If you know another one in Prague please tell me.
Many Thanks

There is an outlet mall on the eastern edge of Prague (Arena Fashion? or something like that.) and near Bratislava, but in Austria, there is Parndorf. To be honest, neither of them are "spectacular;" both carry a large number of international labels but without a lot of true outlet pricing. Personally, unless outlet shopping is a favorite sport, I would not bother using your already brief time in these two cities to do so.
I travel from Vienna to Prague to shop once or twice a year in the regular malls and stores because in general the prices are easier on my pocketbook; and , unlike Vienna, Prague has true department stores and several French and British brands that I like.
I hope this is helpful.
