Planning first trip to Europe need help.

I am 29 and a pretty seasoned world traveler but I have not been to Europe yet. I am looking for some input for destinations and places to visit for someone who likes to do both tourist activities and local night life.

I am looking for areas that offer both historical sites but also a fun night life for an out going 29 year old male. I have 10 days maybe more in Europe and plan on going during the summer. What cities, hotels, and areas would you recommend for this trip? Are there any sites for booking a trip that you recommend?

Thank u,

With only 10 days you only have time for 2-3 destinations (maximum) when you subtract travel time, if you want a chance to relax and enjoy your surroundings. More is not better when it comes to travel. Buy an open jaw airline ticket so you don't have to backtrack to catch your flight home.

Once you decide on your destinations come back with a daily room budget if you want hotel recommendations. You can also use the http://www.booking.com filter system to search for what you like at a price you can afford.

Here is a thought.... Prague, Bratislava, Budapest.

Affordable, interesting, cheap beer. Lots of travelers your age.

I usually use a hotel's own website to book that, and an airline's own website to book the airfare. Occasionally, and in some cities, a more comprehensive booking site works well for hotels, and I sometimes use them to compare rates. For hotels, I use booking.com often, for example, at least to compare. Prague is a city where hotels tend to be on a lot of booking sites, also, there are several that specialize in Prague. I don't like to prepay hotels so don't use sites like Expedia or hotels.com (both require prepayment, I think). booking.com does not

If this were me, London, Paris, Amsterdam in a heartbeat. I am not sure to what degree price is an issue.

I loved Rome...

Good food and the nights don't even begin until 10pm

Athens was great too and the bar across from our hotel didn't close until 5am!

I think both of those have a nice mix of history and nightlife.
