Hi Nicolino,

From your question I would recommend
the first thing you do is get a map
and study it. If you want to go
to the places you mention you really
should know where they are in relation to one another and distances etc.

Many here could answer these questions but they are very basic and you'll learn more from a map.

ViaMichelin.com is great for distances and route planning.

Maps.google.com is also an exellent tool and be sure to download, install and use Google Earth at
earth.google.com.

I'll be going to Greece in May and
in addition to Microsoft AutoRoute 2007 on my laptop, just yesterday I bought an old fashioned folded paper Michelin map.

I hope you don't take my reply as rude but you really need to do some
of the basic 'where is this place, where is that place' research for yourself.

Rob

Hi Nicolino,

Nice is on the Mediterranean coast, Paris in the center north of France. You can easily fly from Paris to Nice in about 1 1/2 hours (from either Orly or Charles de Gaulle airports, I think).

Fast trains (called TGV) are also available; the journey is about 5 1/2 hours and costs about 80 - 110 euros when I checked on a weekday in April (website is in French: www.voyages-sncf.com).

If you do a search here under "French trains", "trains to Nice", etc, you'll find more info.

You're looking into two beautiful areas! Have a wonderful trip!

It is very easy for us to get to Nice from Paris on the TGV. I can't remember how long the trip was but took up a travel day. How many days do you have? These days there are cheap flights to be had so check out Easyjet and Ryan Air but their departure airports always seem to be out of the way.

I've taken the TGV lots of times from Paris to Nice. I enjoyed the ride and reading. The last time I had a car all to myself on a Sunday-1st class. Cannes is close to Nice and you can take a local train(cheap). I actually like Antibes better than Cannes. I've never been to St. Tropez, but I think you probably would need a car. Maybe that's the reason I've never been. I travel by train or bus.
