Planning a short trip of Europe

Hi there
My husband and I have been to the Western Europe namely France, Spain, UK and Italy. This time my husband has a work conference in Lyon in March and we are thinking of going to other parts of Europe which we have not explored. We have a tight budget and a tight time frame. We will fly into Lyon for 3 nights and then we would like to explore maybe Switzerland, Germany and other close countries nearby. If we have a week or so in total, can you please suggest where are the must see places and which city should we fly out from.

p/s - I have also heard Prague is very nice.

Thank you so much in advance!

If you're on a budget I would skip Switzerland - it's extremely expensive.

Prague is fabulous - EasyJet flies from Lyon to Prague. Lots of great places to go around Prague as well.

Prague would be a good choice, it's a beautiful city. We can recommend the Hotel Unitas if you decide to go to Prague. Very comfortable, reasonably priced, great breakfast, good location.

What about the south of France?

When you choose a destination fly home from that country if you can and don't back track to Lyon to have more time to enjoy.

If flying to Prague, do Prague, Dresden and Berlin; or Prague and Vienna.

Hi,

If you have a week, I would recommend Prague and Berlin (more destinations would be too much and tiring).

Prague is a great place : beautiful historical places to discover (the old town), great culture (concerts, ballets), and places to go out to (restaurants, bars).

As per Berlin that I know less, I've had the chance to go there twice and it has something special... but not easy to say what! It's a great place for art lovers, but also for people willing to learn more about history.

Enjoy your trip
Nicolas
