Planning a motorcycle trip of Europe

Hey guys,
I am an Indian guy, and my friends and i were planning a two month road trip of Europe on motorcycles. We planned to start in Tallinn,Estonia and end in Rome, covering almost every country in our route. Our route was supposed to be something like this > Estonia-Latvia-Poland-Hungary-Austria-Czech-Germany-Netherlands-Belgium-France-Spain-France-Switzerland-Italy. But now as i have done some research, it seems that buying a motorcycle is not possible in Estonia or Latvia. I dunno if its possible to rent a motorcycle for such a long trip. I couldn't find useful information on the internet. Please help me know if its possible to buy a motorcycle and then sell it later? And if yes, then which countries/cities can i do it in? Because then i'll have to modify the route of our journey according to that.
If not, then what other ways are there to get a motorcycle?

And one more important question if you can answer...is there a combined visa for the whole Europe or do i have to apply for separate visas?

Please help.

The problem with trying to buy a vehicle is getting it insured. You probably can't get it registered to your name since you are not resident in any of the countries you wish to buy a bike from. Without being able to register the bike you can't insure it, or tax it. No insurance or tax means you are illegal which would lead to major problems.

You also need to check out whether you need a Schengen visa (and any visas for non Schengen countries on your list) and want the conditions are attached to that visa - you may have to give a list of places you intend to visit and where you intend to sleep, plus exact dates, which would put a damper on freewheeling around Europe. To find that out you need to look at the embassy sites for the countries you want to visit or their tourist information sites for India.

As others have said though you should visit the Thorntree forum for more chance of help.

Thank you hetismij. I was worried about that only. Thanks for clearing it out. I guess i'll have to modify my plans or get some relative or friend in europe to buy a bike for me.

And thanks travelnut, these websites are really useful. :)

I looked into this a few years back, and considered renting. When I added it all up, though, I found it was cheaper to ship my bike (by air) there and back (USA)! In addition you will have your own bike equipped as you like, and know its condition. Don't know if this will hold true for you, but consider it. Sad to say, my trip never came off.

It is my understanding that the requirements for a license to drive/ride a motorcycle are quite stringent also.
