Plane, Train, or Automobile? CDG to Dordogne

I'm planning an 18-day trip booked for next June to the Dordogne, Provence, and Burgundy regions. I land in CDG and am wondering the most logical transportation to get me to the Dordogne region (specifically Souillac, near Sarlat). The train looks to take around 4 hours. Any flights from Paris into the area? Thanks for your input!

The train goes from Gare d'Austerlitz to Souillac, takes 4 1/2 hours. Depending on your energy level, amount of luggage, etc., you can either take the RER from CDG to the station, or a taxi. We got tired of humping suitcases up and down stairs, and so now take the taxi. Other people have taken a flight to Brive from Paris, but I dont know if that goes to CDG or not.

Driving from CDG to Souillac through the countryside is very pleasant--once you get away from Paris traffic. I can't remeber exactly how long--perhaps 3-4 hours.

Try and open jaw flight from your home to either Bordeaux or Toulouse, and back to your home from Paris. There is a TGV that goes directly from Dijon to CDG at 6:30 (arrives at 9:20) on M-F, and at 9 or so on Sa & Sun.

Thanks for the advice. StuDudley, I'm assuming the train you mentioned was in the a.m.? Dumb question, I know, but it helps with my planning to be sure! Thanks
