Plane or Train

We will be spending 3 nights in Prague before meeting up with family in Rome. Any recommendations on travelling from Prague to Rome?

Hi C,

Also see http://www.smartwings.net/en/

Of course, the whichbudget website will lead Christa to smartwings...

I take the approach that knowing the whichbudget website is more useful than knowing the name of any specific airine, since (new) airlines appear (and disappear) on any given route, all the time.

And on www.skyscanner.net you can actually look for schedules directly.

I had never really looked at skyscaner.net, and I agree that its different presentation has much merit.

One thing that both sites offer, in their own different ways, is a quick overview of ALL the destinations served (nonstop) from a given origination airport. I know of no similar information compilation for US airports.

I'll give skyscanner the nod on a couple of scores:

1. Vastly easier to look at all the options to/from a city like London with multiple airports

2. Lists both the LCC's (low-cost carriers) and the "legacy" airlines

3. Looks like it may be more up to date - - whichbudget.com for example, still does not list myair.com for VCE-ORY and skyscanner does (and skyscanner also lists Corse Air for this same route; whichbudget doesn't have that either)

I believe you have made a convert of me intrepid...

p.s. please e-mail me about something...
