Places to stay in Tuscany

My husband and I are looking to stay 4-5 nights in Pienza (or somewhere in that area) in July. Any suggestions would be great!

Do you want to stay in town or out in the country? What is your budget?

I stayed at Il Giardino Segreto in Pienza. It's apartments in an old house. One reason I like staying in town is that there are restaurants and no driving on dark, winding roads after dinner.

We stayed at Fonte Bertusi just outside Pienza. We loved the location. It was a large home that is now divided into several smaller apartments. The hosts were wonderful, very helpful with our planning. The breakfasts are outstanding. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We have stayed in Pienza twice. The last time we were there we stayed at Agriturismo Podere San Gregorio. It is so lovely within a short walking distance of the city wall. The family that owns this place are so warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful week. They cooked for all of us one evening and it was wonderful. We enjoyed the others that were staying in this agriturismo. It is a working farm. The rooster wakes you up and the dog welcomes you home. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Also near Montepulciano, we have stayed at Le Mansinaie twice. Mariza, Fiore and Alice are so loving. I still have a silver sunflower that Alice gave me as a gift when we left. I have it on the grand piano in the living room. Every time I pass it, I think of our wonderful time at LeManzinaie. Tuscany is one of our favorite places to visit. Enjoy.

You don't mention a budget, but I recommend La Bandita if July prices are not out of reach (we stayed in late Sept., somewhat out of season). They have both a townhouse and a country property, we stayed at the townhouse and it was beyond excellent. Some guests do a few nights at each location.
