Places to stay in Capri/ AC

I am planning a trip for my family - potentially up to 11 people or could be down to 3. We are looking at May or June of next year and hoping for something somewhat reasonably priced $200 or so. Would it be best to try and rent an apartment or just book a few hotel rooms together? Also if you cna suggest some places to stay that would be great!

Also we're planning for about a week stay.

Is that $200 for a double room? If so, you might look into renting a large apartment. Although we visited Capri, we stayed in Sorento and Positano, so you might want to think about splitting your time between two places. We stayed at Hotel Settimo Cielo in Sorento and at Villa Rosa in Positano. Both hotels were about 150 Euros for a double room with breakfast. Each place has terrific views and are terrific value for money.

hi delaney -

We stayed a couple of nights in Positano at La Tartana (just below La Sireneuse) for 150 € (this was last summer). I think the same family that owns Villa Rosa owns La Tartana - they both have good reputations.

In Capri we stayed at La Minerva - MUCH more expensive but lots a fun for a splurge. And La Minerva is "only" a 3-star, but Capri just costs more.

Seems like your decision re: apartment vs. hotel might depend on how long you're staying (apartments may have a minimum of a 1-week stay - not about one week) as well as on what your other needs might be (e.g., transportation, concierge).

Hope this helps.

We just came back from Capri, and stayed at Hotel Weber Ambassador. It's on the Marina Picola side, much quieter and steps down to the beach. Shutte every 10 niutes to go into Capri center, and shuttle services to and from the port. Great view, great staff and we paid about 150 euros.
