re-tag this as France - not Finland

What a delightful list! We managed a half dozen of these places on our first trip to Paris. Indeed, we had lunch at the Breizh Cafe twice. Now I have an interesting list of places to go next time.

Love this! Thank you!

We've been to many of them, but also have new places to explore. What a fun piece this is!

I would have to take exception, however, with calling rue Montorgueil "one of the longest streets in Paris" since it is only 5 blocks long.

Nice list, but my quibble is with the description of the Promenade Plantee as the "answer" to a similar elevated park in New York City. The Paris fixture is two decades older and also features a string of intriguing crafts workshops on street level. This is not the first time I have seen New Yorkers believe they invented the concept which their city borrowed.

What fun--I've been to about half so clearly have a lot of "work" ahead of me!

Thanks so much.

I also was struck by the statement that rue Montorgueil was one of the longest streets. I suspect they meant to call it one of the longest market streets.

Has anyone here been to Molitor? It looks FANTASTIC. It also looks like it is a bit of a trek.

Is it worth it to go check it out and have an expensive cocktail?

Here is the link to the hotel that has engulfed the swimming pool: http://www.mgallery.com/fr/hotel-732...on/index.shtml

To keep out the unwashed masses, it costs <b>180 euros</b> to go there for one day.

The only revenge of the city is to have free access for classes of school children during the week to annoy the 5-star hotel crowd.

So you can't go to the Molitor just to have a drink? Well that blows.

Thanks for posting this. I am reminded to add several to my ongoing list of things to do next time.

Just a note to add to the information about the French National Library (#22 on the list)-- On permanent display there are the two large magnificent globes made for Louis XIV by Coronelli representing the earth and the heavens. I found them very impressive and there's no admission charge.

The Josephine Baker floating pool mentioned is easily seen from the Passerelle Simone de Beauvoir (pedestrian bridge)that leads to the Parc de Bercy where you will find a Frank Gehry building that houses the Cinémathèque Française.
