Places around London
 

I am planning a trip to Ireland, Scotland and London. I am trying to plan out the places to visit. One of the posters mentioned if going to Hampton Court, visit Kew. That was the first time I've heard of Kew. Can someone tell me where it's located. I have very little time in England so I'd like to make the best of it. Is this place worth seeing, and why. Thanks again for helpful information.

Kew (Gardens) AKA Royal Botanic Gardens

As mentioned above this is a judgement call, but I will offer my opinion anyway. Kew is great if you are really into gardens. I love gardens but I didn't visit Kew until I had been to England quite a few times. The reason Kew wasn't a high priority is because there are so many beautiful gardens all over the UK. So if your time is limited, I suggest you save it for another trip.

I agree with P_M. Kew is beautiful and definitely worth seeing if you have awhile. Whether it's worth seeing if you only have a few days in London depends on a) the weather and b) how into gardens you are. Personally, there are many other things I'd rather do with only a few days in London, especially if this is your first trip. There's plenty of green space and gardens in central London for a short visit. If gardens are very important to you, though, you might want to make it a priority. It'll take while to get out there and back; it's near the end of the District underground line (Richmond branch).
