Place to Stay near Dingle
I will be flying into Cork, then driving towards Dingle. What is a good placve to stay along the way. I want something quaint, like a B&B or guesthouse or even room over a pub. Lots of charm. Then we need a place to stay on the way from Dingle to Tipperary and also one near Killarney. Any suggestions?

Stayed in Dingle a couple of years ago
at a very nice bed and breakfast, The
Milltown House. Out of Dingle, downtown, just across the harbor. Very
nice decor even by american standards
and choices other than the standard eng-
lish breakfast. Charming, we had the
room next to the stable.
Great restuarant in town called Beginish
fine food and friendly establishment. May want to stay more than one night in
Dingle as driving way out on the penin-
sula is a real eye-opener as to living
a different lifestyle.
Have a wonderful time, we hope to get
back in another year.

We just got back from Ireland in October and stayed in a wonderful new B&B just across the street from the Beginish restuarant. The name of the place is An Cappal Duph--the Black Horse. It's owned by Patrick and Helene, a young couple who built the place on the site of Patrick's 100-year old family butcher shop and livery stable (no connection). The rooms are all done in pine floors and furniture and navy curtains and accents. Fresh lily's at the entryway, peat fire in the dining room fireplace. Highly recommended. In terms of a place to eat, we also liked the Adams Pub for lunch (they stop serving at 5:00). My wife had fresh crab, and I had amazing potato cakes as a main course--also highly recommended. I'd be glad to answer other questions about the Dingle/Killarny/Bunratty area as "payback" for the help we got here before our trip.

Mark Pitts
Seattle Washington

Last Friday night, November 19, I stayed in a lovely B&B in Dingle. It is called Duinin House. It is on the Connor Pass road about approx. a mile from town. The friendly and helpful hosts are Anne and Pat.
The house has a lovely sunroom, overlooking Dingle Harbour. They served tea and Guiness cake on arrival. The bedrooms were very nicley deocrated, with local pictures and lamps made at a local pottery. The rooms we had overlooked the mountains.
We were served a wonderful breakfast the next morning. They had a breakfast menu with choices versus just traditional Irish breakfast. I had porriage (sp) with Bailey's Irish cream in it and pancakes with local honey. They also offer fresh fruit and other choices.
If you would like more info, let me know.
