P.S. I think an apartment would be too lonely, I love talking to other travellers in the breakfast room each morning and getting their recent tourist recommendations.

I'd recommend the Familia too. The location is super with lots of buses, easy walk to the Seine, and 2 metro stops just a few minute walk .

Another Aussie here, I have just received an email today from the Familia as I was enquiring about a room for May as well. They do not have their prices for next year as yet and suggested I email back in February - so that might save you some time.

It looks like a nice place and the price is good but I really don't want to take the chance of waiting until February to book something. I will check out some of the above suggestions too, good luck with your search.
