Pizza restaurant in Florence-individual pizzas???
 

Does anybody know the name of the Pizza restaurant that serves individual pizzas and can sit down in the restaurant??

Florence is hardly known for pizzas,, Naples maybe, but not florence!!And not what Americans call pizzas, I've never known an American to say they like Italian pizza , it's too different. <BR>Try Tuscan foods while there, you may never see the real thing once you get home.

There is a restaurant in the back part of the Piazza Signora with outdoor seating that cooks very thin crust pizzas in a wood burning brick oven. I would consider each pizza to serve one person. They have a full menu also, but we have gotten pizza each time we have been in Florence. Nice to look <BR>out on the piazza. I'm sorry I don't have the name.

If your standards are so low that you're looking for pizza in Florence, any old place will do.

Michael, ignore the snobs and enjoy a pizza. They are very different from ours and should be experienced. You'll think the pizza is too big for one person, but it is decieving. They are on a much thinner, lighter crust and not covered with a lot of junk, and therefore less filling. Live a little and enjoy! You can eat Tuscan food (which is marvelous) for your other meals.

The best pizzeria I have found is just opposite the Cibreo Restaurant. It is very small and mostly full of Florentines. It helps to book - I will try to find out the name and # and report back. <BR>It is run by some Napolitans so they know how to make the pizza. <BR>Since it serves mostly locals it is closed in August.

I am married to a Florentine and have been living here for 5 years, so I can tell you that there are some good pizza places here in Florence! The key, as is true with finding good restaurants of any genre in Florence, is to go outside of the very center of town where all of the restaurants cater to foreigners that for the most part can't distinguish good from bad in Italian food. There is a good place for pizza on via Capodimondo (near Piazza Beccaria), for example. Of course if you have just one night in Florence (and I really hope that that isn't the case!) you should have Tuscan food instead of pizza. But it would be unfair to say that there is no good pizza to be had in Florence or that Americans are incapable of appreciating it! (By the way, a few recommendations for Tuscan cuisine: La Vecchia Bettola near Porta Romana; and if you have a car, Dino near Olmo (Fiesole area), and L'Albergaccio at Villa Machiavelli in S. Andrea in Percussina (San Casciano). Buon viaggio e Buon appetito!

So pizza lovers have low standards? Give me a break. We happened upon a great place in Florence that had the most incredible pizza. The size that they served was a little larger than I would consider an individual size. My son considered the pizza he had there, the best he's ever had. Get the Pizza Margherita at Antica Pizzeria dell’Arte on via del Giglio, 28.

Italia, THIS American spent 3 1/2 years in Naples. Love American pizza, but, having returned to the States now, would sell my left arm for a Neapolitan pizza. Heaven on the tongue!
