Pisa to Florence

I am flying into Pisa, after seeing The Leaning Tower I want to train to Florence. Should I book my train ticket in advance?

Probably no point in booking in advance - as I recall its a regional train anyway(?) so it can't sell out - and you might even have to stand if you don't get a seat. Check the Trenitalia website, and if they are regional trains, just buy tickets once you get to Pisa. You should be able to leave your bags at Pisa Centrale and either take the bus to the Field of Miracles or do a long walk (maybe 30 min each way). It's an OK walk, not amazing, maybe worth doing one way and taking the bus the other. Try to detour a little when you cross the Arno to walk up it a little - some interesting churches and buildings along there, though the Arno is pretty dirty and gritty there compared to Florence. Neat reflections in the river sometimes.
