Pisa to Castellina in Chianti

Hi,
anyone know how to get from Pisa to Castellina in Chianti? I am staying at the Hotel Salivolpi and plan to hire a car for 2-3 days. Should i take a train/bus or hire the car at Pisa airport and drive to my hotel? I have no idea how far it is. Anyone know which company to hire a car with?

thanks!

I would check with your hotel about the best transportation, but if you are planning to rent a car anyway, why not get it in Pisa and drive? Driving is a wonderful way to experience Tuscany.

Other factors to consider: Will you want to drop the car back in Pisa? Will you have the car for your entire stay in Tuscany?

Many people like AutoEurope so you might start there. Be forewarned that car rentals in Italy are expensive, in part because certain types of insurance are legally required to be included in the price.

We took the train from Pisa to Sienna and rented our car in Sienna. From there, it is a short drive to Castellini (perhaps 30 minutes?)

Get your car at Pisa and drive. I would plan on about 2 hours to Castellina. See viamichelin.com for routing and time.
