Pisa Hotel?

Looking for a hotel for one night in Pisa. We are flying into Pisa on Easy Jet from Paris in the evening and need a hotel for one night. It does not need to be fancy just clean. We will want to look around the tourist sites the next morning before we head to Tuscany. We will pick up a rental car at the airport.

My husband and I are staying in Pisa for one night in June. We too needed something close to the Tower and rail station. I found many hotels very near the Tower yet very over priced and not very charming. I read about the follow hotel and its neighborhood and thought it looked "charmingly" old world. It is very inexpensive in contrast to the others. I hope you look it up and let me know what you thought of it. ROYAL VICTORIA HOTEL

We stayed at the hotel Francesco for one night several years ago. While not luxurious, it was clean and convenient and moderately priced. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Royal Victoria several years ago and enjoyed the experience. It's a very old hotel with many remnants of its grandeur. The room was simple but clean. It was a short cab ride from the airport and a nice walk to the Leaning Tower.

We stayed at the Royal Victoria for a night several years ago. While I would say it is past its prime (unless it has been modernized recently), it was more than adequate for our needs.
I suggest that you ask for a room on the river side of the hotel.

There is also a more modern Jolly hotel across the street from the train station, but if you are leaving the city by car, there is no advantage to that location.

We very much liked the Hotel Allessanrdo Della Spina. It is in walking distance from the train station and also very quick trip to the airport, sort of in the university section.

When we had to get up at 5am for our flight, the hotel clerk slept in the lobby so he could get up and make coffee for us!

Here is another vote for the Hotel Allesandro Della Spina. We stayed there last September and liked it very much. I would stay there again.

Back in 2003, my wife and I stayed at the Hotel Amalfitana (http://www.dormireintoscana.it/Amalfitana/enindex.htm). on the recommendation of a friend from Pisa. It was north of the river, but the cab ride to the airport was <10 minutes (and the train statioon should be a bit closer). It wasn't anything special, but was perfectly adequate (at EUR 65). If you're not arriving too late, it's only a short walk to the Piazza dei Miracoli.

Enjoy your trip,
Paul
