On your Pisa-Lucca day, I'd do Lucca first, in the morning when the shops are open, then move on in the afternoon to Pisa for the tower, etc.. The bike ride around the top of Lucca's wall is a nice intro to the town. (There were two sets of walls. They filled in the space between and planted trees and grass on top, so a pleasant place to ride or walk.)

We've done Pisa-Lucca in the reverse order (a couple of times). Arrived Pisa early to enjoy the Field of Miracles before the tour buses started arriving. Dinner and passegiata in Lucca at the end of the day.
