Pisa and Rome directions

I posted this generally under "Directions", so please excuse me if you're read this elsewhere.
What is the best way to get from Pisa Centrale train station to the Leaning Tower area. Also from Roma Termini station to the Vatican Museum. I can find everything on the maps, but think walking might be too much. Any suggestions???

The Pisa Centrale station is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Tower area. Totally do-able. You could get a map, or use our strategy: wander around until you look up and see the tower smack in front of you. :)

Pisa. Even easier is to the bus.

Inside the train station buy a bus ticket at newstand right by the main exit.

They are about 1Euro each. Buy one for the return as well.

Exiting the station, you will head diagonally to the right where you'll look for the RED LAM bus.

The bus runs right to the tower (TORRE). Easier than navigating and walking.

People are friendly and helpful, so even if you don't speak italian you can mime "bus a torre" - coarse bus to tower and someone will point you to the RED LAM bus.

Rome you definitely don't want to walk. The #40 express bus from Termini to Vatican is the way to go. I think the #64 also runs the same route but has more frequent stops. These buses run every few minutes so if you miss one just hop on the next.

THere is a large bus depot just outside Termini, so look for your bus # and get on. Again, be sure to buy tickets at a newsstand before boarding, then validate in the little yellow boxes on board.

The #40 bus drops you by Castel Sant' Angelo, so you'll still have a bit of a walk (10-15 mins) to the Vatican Museum entrance.

The #64 bus drops you south of Piazza San Pietro, so again a 10-15 minute walk to the Vatican Museum entrance.

This is one of the few times when the Rome subway system actually comes in handy. From Roma Termini, take the red line to Ottaviano San Pietro. From there, the walk to the museum is 5-10 minutes.

If you're truly stressed for time, I'd take a taxi from Termini. Be sure to specify the Vatican Museum entrance if that's what you want. The piazza and St Peter's are a 10-minute walk around the Vatican walls from the museum entrance.
