Thinking of two nights stay somewhere in S. Tuscany in late May. Have visited Montalcino--on two day trips. Just finished reading Vanilla Beans and Brodo, so I want to go back. But I have heard Pienza is great. We've never been there.

More input appreciated.

Halfway between in San Quirico--a much overlooked small town with charm and the best location in south Tuscany.
Look at Palazzo del Capitano to stay. and eat at Vecchio Forno.
