Piedmont wine areas?
 

I love wines from the Piedmont, and am trying to plan a few days in the area during a two week tour of Northern Italy next September. Can anyone help me out with cute little towns and or inns they've enjoyed in this area?

Of course, I don't (currently) own either book, so I can't take a look and see what they have to say, but it seems that some others i\are planning to buy one or the other or both.

Post a reference to your question (i.e., this question)... on <i>that</i> thread. Might get some answers going.

Hi rexmor. We stayed at an agritourismo in La Morra a hill town next to Barolo The name was Risveglio in Langa web site www.risvegliolanga.it It was 89 euro included breakfast and is in a newly renovated brick farmhouse. Franca the host spoke very little english but she had a friend who she would phone and would translate for us. It actually worked very well. Franca directed us to some fantastic restaurants in neighbouring hill towns about 20 min. away. The food was on par or better than what we had in Tuscany for 1/3 the price. If you want to visit wineries you have to e-mail them in advance as they don't do regular tours like in napa /sonoma. but this being said, we had several amazing private tours often by the winemaker himself. I would love to go back to this beautiful area and would definitely stay with Franca again. The rooms had a small fridge with a 2 burner stove. a courtyard out the back overlooked the neighboring wineries
