Man, I can't even believe I am continuing to respond. I guess I am just baffled at this.

Ok. My "studies" (I don't really understand the quotes...do I have to send a transcript?) do take up a lot of time. Therefore, for THIS trip, I have asked my wife to do the brunt of the research. We have been overseas twice, and the other two times I planned the trips. I just can't do it now. But I DO have time to post on the board, since that can *sometimes* prove to be well worth the time. Meaning, if people are willing to be helpful rather than cavalier, it can save my wife an abundance of time. Therefore, I come on here, endure the rude comments, to get the good comments from the people who choose to be nice rather than judgmental.

As far as being an "exalted" graduate student, I never even mentioned that until I was accused of making up a story to solicit travel information! (how absurd). So, I did not wear it on my sleeve, but rather mentioned it when it was pertinent. That is not "exalted," it is an appropriate response to an attempt at character defamation.

Further, I wouldn't even be on this board if I was exalted. After I posted this question, and told my friend about the responses I was getting, he said, "Don't waste your time, I'll use what I have." So, if I was that prideful I would have been outta here a long time ago.

Truth be told, I DO want travel advice. That is why I am here. The vast number and different style of posts I have given have been an attempt to try and "make you all happy" so that you will actually give me what I am here for...rather than snub your noses at me because of some thing I didn't do to fit into your "fodorite" world.

So, tell me what I am doing wrong, and I will fix it. I have requested, and am reading as much as I can of every travel book on Rome I can get my hands on. I have watched a bunch of Rick Steves videos on Rome and daytrips out of Rome. I am doing all that I can.

So, if YOU are here to give travel advice and not boost your ego, tell me, please, what do I need to do to be "accepted" here so that I can actually get what I am looking for.....helpful responses.
