I also tried your photos before and could not get in. I just viewed them and enjoyed them very much. I was curious about Hotel Bonaparte but the bonus of all the others was a real treat.

Thanks again.

p.s. I liked the Bonaparte. Looks comfortable and like you could feel at home there.

Still can't see them, it tells me the link is no longer valid. I really wish I could see them, how did you all finally get to see them?

You should get a pic of "The Thinker"
Click "view photos".

Are you using AOL? sometimes they have trouble.

Also, the original link seems to be working:

Boy I sure lost it on thatlast message. Please forgive me. Who took away my Spellchecker? Anyway, my wife and I are going to stay at Hotel Boneparte, based on the wonderful things we read. Also, what bakery, restaurant, evening activities are recommended by you folks?
Thanks

What a lovely anniversary trip!

The Bonaparte serves breakfast in your room.
You just call down and let them know when
you want it. Croissant, roll, coffee, lovely hot milk ...
and I think there was juice.

Suggestion: On the first morning, wander over to
Le Marche St Germain on Rue Mabillon (2 blocks)
and buy a huge bunch of fresh flowers. The rooms at the
Bonaparte aren't fancy, but the flowers made up for it.

Back behind the hotel there are a couple of streets
lined with restaurants, pizzarias, and creperies. We loved
BISTRO D'OPIO, 9 rue Guisarde. Provencal food---very good,
lively atmosphere. I've since seen it mentioned here on Fodors,
very favorably. The pizzaria back there also has
great dinner salads.

There are tons and tons of restaurants within an easy walk.
We pre-planned a couple of restaurants, but the ones we
enjoyed most were the ones we discovered on our own.

Hi jae,

Directly across the street is Pierre Herme' - wonderful almond croissants, chocolates and macarons.

About 3 blocks to the right, as you exit, is Ladure'e - more wonderful chocolates and macarons.

>what ... restaurant, evening activities are recommended by you folks?

What are your interests?

This is so lovely, hearing of all these wonderful tips. I was able to see your photos, and friends, Marcy. thank you, for these. Its just wetting our appetite, we cannot wait until May 21, when we get to check in. Anyone have any suggestions for hotels around Antibes? We end up in that area for our last four days, and from there we can go up to Grasse, and the other little hillside towns. We will see the museums in Nice, too.
Thank you ever so much, I will try to post to ofoto when we return, as well!!

Marcy,
Thanks! Great photos Especially loved the ones of the flower shops. We always stay in the 6th, so I love to see photos of that area. That café looks like the Café du Metro on the rue de Rennes... did you happen to eat there? We've walked by it so many times, but never stopped there before.

Do either of these photo sites work for you? One is Marcy's, the other is Ira's...

This is wonderful information and photos. Along with Ira's, I feel like I have a real feel for the place.
I'm wondering about kismetchimera's comment that she felt that this was an expensive for a triple room in a two star hotel.
Any comments on that? Also, can someone tell me if this hotel is air conditioned? I may have asked this before, but can't remember.
Thanks for all advice.

I believe Ira has said in the past -
it's a 2-star hotel in a very central location, with an elevator, air-cond, and a minibar.
Usually, at least one of those is missing in a 2-star.

Wonderful pictures.

This hotel looks good, and I'm always interested in trying different hotels in the 6eme.

I have taken a trip to google, and I cannot find a website for the hotel. Can anyone help? Thanks.

No website, no email. You have to go on the recommendation of people here. The original post above has the only contact information.

Loved your pictures Marcy. It was fun to put a face to your name too. How nice to see a pic of Le Metro since the TN Trio of Terror had breakfast there one morning before our cooking class. Thanks.
