Since Giverny has come up a few times in recent posts, I thought I would post my pictures from April 2007. I took a Fat Tire Bike tour to Giverny on a Saturday, which was really fun. The bike ride was very easy and I would happily do it again as it was a great way to get to Giverny and see more of the area.

The first few pictures are of the town of Vernon where we stopped for lunch before riding to Giverny. April 2007 was unusually warm, so a lot of the flowers were in bloom during my trip. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Nice! What was the starting point of the bike tour?

We met at the train station in Paris and picked up the bikes in Vernon. The tour price included round trip train ticket and entrance fee.

Sounds like fun. At this time of year, the wait for the bus from the Vernon station to Giverney could be as long as the trip out there from Paris. At least it was for us.

Given the number of visitors to Giverny I would think that Vernon would be the perfect place for a Velib type bike system.
