Picos de Europa ( Spain ) without a car.
Hi can you help?
I will be in Leon early August & want to travel on the East route Leon - Potes staying in Potes. Alsa does not have a bus on the days I want:
Q,s.
1. Is there a frequent local bus service ( Leon to Potes) other than Alsa.
2. Are there tourist outlets in Potes that can arrange guided day trips to the Picos.
I dont drive so am restricted to some form of public transportation.

Perhaps you must go first to Santander and then take a bus to Potes...
There are a at least three companies in Potes arranging guided trips to the National park of Picos de Europa.
There are a few nice hiking routes starting from Potes. Also you can easily take a bus to Fuente De.
Even without a car you will have a good access to the following walking routes, that I can recommend:
Fuente De:
1. Canal del Embudo - Collado de Liordes - Vega de Liordes - Alto de la Canal - Canal de Pedabejo - Alto de Ramoña - Invernales de Berrugas
2. El Cable - Horcadina de Covarrobres - La Vueltona - Collado Horcados Rojos
3. Majada de Bustantivo - Horcada de Valcava
Santo Toribio:
4. Ermita de San Pedro - Sierra de la Viorna - Cruz de Viorna - Mieses
Potes:
5. Porcieda - Ermita de Valmayor
