Picnic in Paris
So where is everyones favorite place for a picnic in Paris, sunset or otherwise??
|
|
Not unique, private or tucked away, but we always take a lunch to the little park behind Notre Dame. It's a great place to pause between islands and the view of the buttresses never fails to be an "aha-Paris" moment. In addition, you're sometiems lucky enough to hear musicians on the little bridge behind you, which you'll then walk over to stop at Berthillon's for your dessert!!

Champ de Mars to look at the Tower.

Another vote for the Eiffel Tower...see my post about my recent picnic here:

Can't beat the steps and esplanade in front of the Palais de Chaillot (Trocadero) overlooking the Seine and the Eiffel Tower smack on the other bank of the river. Also a favorite skate boarding, trick bike place for local youths.
See a photo of the esplanade here: http://www.parisdigest.com/monument/...dechaillot.htm |
Luxembourg Gardens - daytime

What kind of picnic?
1. on the grass, relaxed, spread out 2. on a bench or a quai (if not allowed on the grass) |
Jardin des plantes or along the Seine at Musee de Sculpture de Plein Air

For a picnic lunch if you have been shopping the Grands Magasins, we like the little park with benches right in front of the Trinite church. There is a good boulangerie for sandwiches next to the nearby Hotel Langlois.
