Picking up train tickets from Auutomatic Ticket Machine?
 

I have purchased four tickets for train from Paris East to Lucerne. I was hoping to have the option to print the tickets, but I did not get that option. Instead, I was informed to pick them up at the automatic ticket machine at the station. It sounds simple, but has anyone ever done this before? Thanks,

I don't know what kind of tickets your ordered, but if they are regular train tickets, they can never be printed. You also don't have to pick them up at a machine, you can use the counter. If you have some special thing, maybe that's another story, though -- maybe you should say exactly what kind of tickets you ordered by fare.

It isn't simple if you're American, SNCF machines won't take US credit cards.

Just to add, take the credit card you used to pay for the tickets as well as the reference number of the reservation to the ticket window. You will not get your tickets without both of those items.

These were regular train tickets purchased from the SNCF webstie. Last year I purchased TGV tickets and was able to print them myself. Sounds like the ticket counter is the way to go. Thanks for the help.

It isn't the type of train you are on (TGV or not), it's the type of fare or ticket you have. A regular fare TGV ticket cannot be printed, only idTGVs or PREMs.

These tickets were full price tickets, the ones I printed in the past were PREMs.

You can also pick you your tickets at an SNCF boutique (agency) which might have shorter lines and be more convenient to your hotel.
