Picking up Eurostar tickets in France..

I've ridden the Eurostar many times, but always originating from London. I just booked a ticket yesterday from Paris-London, but I'm confused about the ticket collecting method. The site said tickets can be picked up at pretty much any french station, but "french credit cards/debit cards ONLY can be used to use the self-service machines in French stations".

Do they mean ALL French stations aside from the Eurostar terminal Gare du Nord? Can I use my American credit card to pick up tickets at the machines at the Eurostar terminal, or will I have to wait in line?

Thanks!

any SNCF station or boutiques - SNCf shops in town centres and various locations in Paris

Yes at Eurostar check-in but you may have a long queue potentially to wait in so don't wait until last minute

The only reason can't use machines is most American cards lack the required chip that is embedded in French credit cards.

Hi MZ,

>Can I use my American credit card to pick up tickets at the machines at the Eurostar terminal, or will I have to wait in line?<

Now, slowly reread what you just wrote:
"french credit cards/debit cards ONLY can be used to use the self-service machines in French stations".

The eurostar people recommend arriving about 0:45 hr early.

I suggest adding about 0:30 min if you have to wait on line to get your tickets from an agent.

Enjoy your visit.

There are several SNCF boutiques in Paris , pick it up there anytime and avoid the lines at the station

You can pick up your ticket in ANY train station or ANY SNCF boutique ANYWHERE in France. That's why computers exist.
