Picking up a car at the Munich train station?

Hello, We will be renting a car thru Hertz and will be picking it up at the Hauptbahnhof in Munich. I heard somewhere (and can't remember where now) that it is a bit difficult to find the car rental areas in the train station area. Any info on this would be helpfull. Thank you

We rented a car at the Hauptbahnhof once for a drive down to Fussen. As I recall, you make the arrangements in the train station, however, depending upon your rental company, the cars are actually located outside the station.

We actually walked a block or two to get our car. They provided directions of course, so it wasn't too complicated.

US

All car rental agencies are located together in an upper section near the front of the station. The cars tend to be parked in hotel parking garages, and you'll be given the directions to the garage plus a ticket to get out of the gate. If you're also returning the car in Munich, be sure to make a mental note of where the garage entrance is located.

The replies you've received so far are accurate. It's by no means impossible, but you will have to contend with the normal challenges of big city driving.

Walk in to the main entrance of the train station and look up to your right, you will see a Burger King. Take stairs up to that area. Once you get to the second level, you will see the car rental area near the coffee shop (I think it's called Nescafe, can't remember)
