Pickering and Skipton B&B's

Looking for recommendations for nice B&B's in both villages. Any suggestion?
Thanks. I have checks various sites.

The Special Places to Stay website has four nice looking B&Bs in each town. They are generally better than average B&Bs.

I don't personally know any in Skipton but here are a couple of nice ones in Pickering.

and this one is a little more basic.

I doubt either place would like being called "villages".

Ok alan. Lets call them big cities if that makes you happy.

Alan does have a valid point and I don't know how well you know this area - if you go to either Pickering or Skipton thinking you are staying in a village you are going to be very disappointed.
They are both bustling 'small towns' serving a wide rural area.
Skipton in particular on Market days is extremely busy and best avoided if you are going anywhere in a hurry.

Roger... tell more.

Try Herriots Hotel in Skipton. Just to reiterate Morgana's post, Skipton is very busy even on none market days and parking is usually at a premium.

I think that alanrow was only trying to point out that it isn't a small village type atmosphere, but that of a busy market town, as is Pickering.

Thanks for pointing out the size of the towns. I did my research and know the size, and relize that they aren't villages, but thanks for your concerns. I mean I really like York and it certainly isn't a village.
Sheila, it's 50/50 if I can do this trip. If so I would plan on my flight out om Sunday 27 February, with a return March 9.

So far I am thinking about Woodbridge, Pickering, Settle, Skipton, St. Bees, Bardon Bridge and Pateley Bridge with the last night in London. Will know by next week.

Looking good!
Only place I'm not familiar with is Bardon Bridge. There is a Barden Bridge in Wharfedale next to Barden Tower, but it's just a crossing of the Wharfe and not even a hamlet really (maybe 2 or 3 houses?), let alone a village!

Another error on my part. Meant Hayden Bridge.
