Are you asking for information other than what is stated on their web site? It says opening in June.

I just saw on a web-site that on JUNE 21st. it will re-open. I was only interested on the approx. opening date reg our trip dates.

The New York Times and other publications reported last week that Musée Picasso's reopening has again been delayed. It was supposed to reopen in June but now its director, who has come under fire because of the repeated delays, has said she hopes that the museum will be ready for visitors by the end of the year. No specific month was mentioned.

The odd thing is that the latest news seems to indicate that everything is pretty much in place at the museum. The renovation is all but done. The French culture ministry must give its okay for the museum to reopen but the museum director is said to have a rather tense relationship with the ministry.

We'll have to wait for further news in the coming months. I've been following this story because I had hoped to visit the renovated museum this October. It looks as if that won't happen.

On Trip Advisor a few days ago there was a thread about the museum and a Paris resident noted that the re-opening has now been pushed back from June to September 2014. I haven't verified this but the poster seemed pretty sure about it.

The Paris Tourist Info website just says sometime in 2014. I don't think you can know for sure right now. There seem to be a zillion Picasso museums in the world, I read Picasso himself once said "give me a museum and I'll fill it". I think I've been to about 4.

My favorite one was something that I think was a temporary exhibit in another museum, I remember it was a lot of old photographs of Picasso and his family, relationships, homes, while working, etc. It was in some small French museum. But I think the one in Paris is pretty good. I didn't like the ones in Barcelona or Antibes that well. Haven't been to the one in Malaga. Of course, a lot of museums have a lot of his works, also, like the Guggenheim. I think they have some of the works I like best, as well as Guernica which is in Madrid.

According to an article in Le Figaro dated last week, it will be postponed until September for reasons of security. After the theft in 2009, they're not taking any chances.

Yes, not until September at the earliest now. At least it will be a significantly larger museum than it used to be.

A brief NY Times piece today says Musée Picasso may open by mid-September, at the earliest.

Sounds rather iffy.

my Mom is going to Paris right around that itme. She was really hoping to see it this time.

Christina, I wonder if you've been to Lucerne? the Picasso photos you describe sound like those I've heard about in the museum in Lucerne...used to be the Picasso museum, now the Rosengart collection. Or maybe it was a traveling exhibit from there. I'm going to see those in a just a few weeks and really looking forward to it.
