Piazza Navona Area?
Where is the Piazza Navona Area in Rome? Is it in the "Ancient Rome" area? I am looking at the map of Rome on the Fodor site and I don't see this area. Help!
|
Please don't rely on this map - it's way too general to be of much help. Having said that, I can tell you that the Piazza Navona is roughly where the "R" in "Rome" is and above it. Yes, it's the Ancient Rome, or Centro Storico area.

So very near the Trevi Fountain, Ellen?
|
Nope - it's right near the Pantheon - great location!!! Look on the map to the left and slightly north of the Forum area - Piazza means "Square" so you will see dead space on the map - if you've hit Campo de Fiore you are too far left.
|
And what's good about it is that in addition to being right by the Pantheon, it's walkable to the Spanish Steps (to the northeast of it), to the Trevi Fountain (to the east, maybe a bit southeast, of it) and to Trajan's Market/Forum area (south of it).

We returned this week from Italy. staying a block from Piazza Navonna in Rome. A great location between Vatican City and the Spanish Steps, near ancient sites. Only needed to take the bus(#116) to Villa Borghese, but walked back.

Piazza Navona isnt too far from the Trevi Fountain. It was an easy walk for us. We did take a city bus from the Vatican area to the Victor Emmanuel, then it was a short walk to the Forum.

How is Linda able to post with out a E-mail address ending in .com or .net (etc.)? I thought that a functional (even if fictitious) E-mail address was required.

Ok, Thanks Everyone!
