Not right on Piazza Navona, but about a 6-7 minute walk is Da Baffetto. Great pizza!

Never eat in a restaurant on Piazza Navona. They are all tourist rip-offs. It's the location.

We eat in those places only for an after dinner ice cream so that we can watch the street life. Prices are quite high and food is often not the best.

We stayed right off of Piazza Navona and only bought the gelato...yum, yum, yum!!!

No true that *all* restaurants ON Piazza Navona are a rip off. There is one in front of Bernini's fountain called Caffe Domiziano and I always stop by there for a drink or pizza. The food is fine - and sometimes you just have to suck up the drink prices especially when paying for a view like that.
Remember - DO NOT TIP - it is not the custom in Italy and Americans with their tipping habits are creating a culture of expectation among Italian waitstaff toward American tourists. Ignore pushy staff who ask for a tip - they know you are American and they would NEVER do this to an Italian.

Here is an excerpt from my TR of '09 about the Enoteca Cul de Sac. If they are still around, it would be my first choice in the area. I learned about it from an American ex-pat who lived nearby and took us to his favorite restaurant in the area. It is just outside the Piazza and perhaps a two minute walk from the fountain. If you want to find it, ask a local or policeman if it is still around. Because of its local popularity I would think it would be

<<I was remiss in not adding a bit more about the "Enoteca Cul de Sac."
This place is a real find that has made its reputation among locals for good cooking and the quality of its reasonably priced food. As its name would imply, it began as a wine bar and thus it has an outstanding selection of wines for a restaurant of its small size. Many of the wines can be bought by the glass. The decor is as expected- walls lined with bottles of wine. The tables are simple, service excellent and knowledgable and ambiance one of a place filled with happy local diners.

Its location is just steps from the Piazza Navonna, making it an ideal place for visitors to the Piazza and the many fodorites who prefer that area as a place to stay. It is small though and easy to miss. On the outside, it still looks like an Enoteca rather than a restaurant.
