Amazing video kerouac. How has this filming been done? I see no selfie stick. Was he accompanied by a drone?

kerouac May 6th, 2020 01:08 AM

Clearly a drone was used for some of the shots, but I presume he mostly just used a GoPro with a fisheye lens

Be still my heart I can’t take in the beauty! Thank you everyone. Makes me want to cry.

My first trip to France was in 1976. I was 16 and went without my parents or family. I stayed with three different families in Châlon Sur-Soane and the small village of Givry. I was with a group from my hometown on an exchange program in the summer. It created in me a great desire to see the world and travel that will always be with me.

That was great Kerouac, thank you!

It's a bit horrible to admit, but Paris looks so much better without people.

It’s an amazing video and Paris looks stunning, but isn’t a city made up and defined by its people? The deserted streets kind of send a chill down my spine...

It looks so much better without traffic!

Here is the entry to the Commanderie d'Arville, considered the best preserved Templars site. It goes back to 1185 and is near Vendome in the Loir-et-Cher. It also has a chapel, an impressive grange barn (with a St Andrews cross to stabilize the roof), and a dovecote.

My favorite photos taken from my visit to the Dordogne region.

Jump, those are some wonderful photos of a beautiful region. I see by the dates that you visited about the time of the Journées du Patrimoine weekend. Were you there then, and if so did you visit any place special?

Thanks Coquelicot. I'm embarrassed to say I've never heard of that event so I may very well have been part of it but wouldn't have known the difference.

You would have known if you participated. It's a huge annual event, all over France, and in the Dordogne there are some particularly delightful offerings.

Jump, your stunning photos brought a ray of sunshine into my monotonous existence. Thanks for that.

Jump, loved your photos and I wish I was walking along the lane by the river (one of the first photos, with the reflections and about to turn foliage). Just so serene.

About to wander through your other albums now.

Jump....your photos brought back memories of one of our fvorte ventures in France. Thanks for posting.

Not by plan we happened to be there during the September Herritage Weekend. it was extra special because on that Sat. night it was my birthday. The streets of Sarlat were lined with 10,000 candles.
what a birthday that was!

Jump, thanks for posting your incredible photos! You’ve made me miss being there more than ever. Another festival that’s worth seeing on a future trip to the Dordogne is the Félibrée, which celebrates Occitan culture and music, located in a different town each year in early July, as it has every year since 1903. Even if you miss the festival, the paper flower garland decorations remain up all summer long. Here’s a pic from St-Cyprien, where it took place in 2018.
