We are staying in L'isle sur la Sorgue now, it's been fairly warm but luckily cools down nicely in the evening. Let the lavender gods shine on us to day, we are spending the day out with a driver to eat, drink and hunt down lavender. It's a life long dream come true - I'm so excited. A huge tick off my bucket list.

Thank you for the wonderful photos - if we see a few of those vistas today I will be in seventh heaven.

Wow. Just lovely. Thanks for sharing your photos. Those of us who share your & Scott's travel style (I know I'm not the only one) most definitely would like to see a report!

If we're all really careful and don't call too much attention to your TR - and it isn't about Italy so there is a chance - maybe you'll come through unscathed

Janisj, there was a snide comment on a really nice TR in the Spain forum, so no one is safe.

I was at Abbey Notre Dame de Senanque today! Lovely mass and gorgeous lavender!

Also went to Gordes, Joucas, Roussillon, and Bories. Great day.

I love your photos, please don't stop posting. You're the kind of people that I could travel with! Ignore the ignorant snide remarks.

Off tomorrow to Arles with stops in St. Remy and Les Baux on the way.

Jamikins, many thanks for sharing your beautiful photos. I, too, greatly enjoy your trip reports. I've learned so much from this forum and while I know what you mean about the unpleasantness, posters like you really do contribute something positive. Thank you.

Guess I'm just sensitive.
Have to say some of the bickering is quite entertaining, but I don't like sarcasm or superiority.

Jamikins:

You have hit upon the one pet peeve that I have regarding this forum, that being the air of superiority some people seem to posses some of whom are frequent posters to this site. I believe them to be "legends in their own minds" and frankly, they bore me. Probably they are nice people and they have significant experience which I find valuable. I was taken to task by one, after giving my experience, accused me of calling that person an idiot. Franky, that did indeed qualify them with membership in the idiot's club. I now have taken the position that this site furnishes me great enjoyment from reading sarcastic comments. If you don't like, don't read it.

Your posts have always been informative and helpful without sarcasm. You description of "flying telephone booths" was one of the great lines. Please continue.

Sorry for the rant. Hope I have not offended anyone but if so, that is your issue and the demons that you must deal with.

Great as always. I also wanted to thank you on your thread for your Barcelona Trip report from a couple of years ago (I think that's when it was). Your tips about getting to places early really helped us avoid massive crowds. Gracias!!

Thanks to Scott for his photos as well as yours! They were all beautiful. For some strange reason the old citroen parked on a slant was my favorite--maybe because it made me laugh.

PLEase don't let the negative miserable wretches stop your wonderful trip reports! I have enjoyed them all, as have many others on this forum. It makes me angry to think that the negatives can spoil things for the majority of us! PLEASE, Please, please! A TR for all of us who are begging!

I remember my first TR drew some negative comments, enough so that I even changed my screen name, and it took a long time to get enough courage to write another.

Jamikins, I, too, hope you continue to share your trip reports. I've read nearly all of them and gone through most of your photo galleries as well. They're highly entertaining and informative. One of your reports--Bologna and Le Marche I think--inspired our first trip to Italy this past May. Admittedly, we didn't end up going to Emilia Romagna or Le Marche, but the report made me totally rethink the idea of just doing some version of Rome, Florence, Venice. Your descriptions of the countryside, small villages and the road less slightly traveled did the trick. We ended up in Umbria and loved it. I just really enjoy your travel attitude. You and Scott know what you enjoy doing and don't seem beholden to anyone else's top ten list of must-do attractions. I find that refreshing.

Jamikins, love your pics of Provence! We would really enjoy a TR, as we've always liked following your travels, and have picked up many valuable ideas. We know what you mean by the sometimes rude or curt posters. But we think that most of the Fodorites are nice, supportive, helpful people, and we try to ignore the rest. Please continue sharing your experiences!
