Photo spots for quaint, unique buildings

While on vacation I take photos of buildings, shops, houses and doorways to paint later on. In London I took hundreds of photos and my favorites were from a day trip in the Cotswolds.

Any great areas for that in and around Paris that are accessible by Metro or Train? This is my first visit to Paris.

I don't think you need to be directed to specific doorways in Paris. Just keep your eyes open and I'm sure you'll locate zillions.

Last month in New England Mobile Book Fair, Newton, MA I bought a beautiful little book (5 1/2 X 6, 240 pages ISBN 0-7148-3455-6 ), "Paris - Portrait of a City". It was in the remainder section so I know I paid less than the $9.95 list.

It has some spectacular photos of doors, arches, wrought iron railings, knobs and knockers, shop signs, columns, light fixtures, etc. Those things we pass but don't see.

The same photographer, Matthew Weinrab, also did a previous volume on London.

There are more streets in Paris that have photogenic bldgs/doors/houses/metro signs/ than don't have those sorts of things. Just look around and you will find hundreds of things to shoot.
