Photo Forums Recommendations

Since this forum does not "do" pictures. It seems like people post there travel pictures to one of several websites (photo forums if you will). worldisround, ophoto, trip advisor and on.

What are advatages and disadvantages. (obviously ease of use is important).

Thanks in advance

I use photo.epson.com and it's very easy.

Pay attention to the small print of the agreements for those sites that don't charge anything. In some cases you may be giving away rights to use your photos.

Though it's not the easiest to use, and does charge a nominal annual fee, I like Pbase. Some of the work you'll see on that site is incredible. For example:

I also use pbase.com. It costs $23 a year which isn't much considering you don't have to worry about rights to your photos, they are nicely presented and you have plenty of space (100mb). I don't think it's hard to use at all. If you want to see a sample, my stuff is at pbase.com/annforcier

Yours is another of my bookmarked pages on Pbase, Isabel. Just love your stuff.

OMG, what a spectacular site, Isabel.

If you're just looking for a place to post pics, photobucket.com is another option.

Fabulous stuff Isabel.

I use either webshots..I have multiple free accounts!.. or Ofoto..now called Kodakgallery. I mainly use the Kodak site because I use Kodak Easyshare software to dowwnload from my camera to their editing site and the pictures are automatically uploaded to ofoto . If you send yoursel an invitation to view pictures and check the no sign in box , it's easy to copy and paste the url for others to view.

I really like Virtual Tourist , too but I don't often feel like doing reports on places and things to do and see.

Yes, Isabel's ARE beautiful. But with all due respect to them (and I DO because they are wonderful), everybody should go to pbase.com - the home page -- and look at those Mike Long photos from France. The Chateauneuf pic in the 14th row, far right (of the ivey/flowers) was so beautiful is made me want to cry. And yes, I'm a man. er, a big strong, VIRILE man (THERE!). Honestly, they are all absolutely BREATHTAKING and the best set of photos I've ever seen. Isabel may be, but this guy is definitely, a professional photographer. My GAWD. That's it, I'm throwing my camera away -- there's no longer any point...

Isabel, your photographs are beautiful. I've not been to Ireland, but your photos make me want to go there. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Want to bring this to the top again if possible. Just found out about DAlbum. Anyone else have favorite sites for posting photos? I'm running out of shelf space! Thanx everyone.

If anyone wants to improve their photography go to www.photosig.com

Photos are critiqued there. You can gain a lot by reading the critiques or post your own for others to critique...and it's free.

While rummaging around the internnet for info on Sorrento, cam across this interesting photo-journal web site. You can look at photos without registering

How about world is round? I just saw Bobthenavigator's shots and looked around the site-it looks good. Any comments or other recommendations?

bobthenavigator Jul 17th, 2005 11:28 AM

Yes, I do like worldisround.com because it lets you arrange and edit photos by gallery. But, PBase is also very versatile.

For Donco, here is my Sicily gallery:

Was there another thread comparing various photo-sharing sites? I'm looking for it to send to someone.
