Phoning France

I am attempting to make a dinner reservation at Le Violin d'Ingres, one of the great restaurants recommended on this forum. An international babe I'm not, so am having trouble with the international call. Calling Paris from the US, I'm dialing 011-33-01-45-55-48-42. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for pardoning my silly question.

Don't dial the 1 in between 33 and 45 (I used to be an operator). So dial this: 011-33-1-45-55-48-42. 01 is used within France. Let me know how it works out.

Sorry, don't dial the 0. So follow the numbers I posted above but don't dial the 0 in between 33 and 45. You get what I'm saying.

Hi Judy:

The only problem is that you need to drop the "0" before the second "1", so 011.33.1.45.55.48.42

That should work great from there on in-have fun at the Violin d'Ingres

Jeanne

MERCI! MERCI! YOU GUYS ARE GREAT! I got the reservation...well, the fax went thru at least. You are all very kind to answer so quickly, and not tell me to call the damn operator...which is what I should have done. I just came to you first. And probably got my answer faster!

Yes, drop the 0, but if you want to save some money, dial 10-10-811 first and you can call France for 12¢ a minute.

That's right Randy; we use 1010-811 whenever we phone France. Good 24/7. No surcharges. Rates good from CA to France, but may differ in other areas. Their customer service number is 800 668-4872, if you want to check. No, I don't work for the company!
