Phone Cards in Spain??

Can I purchase a phone card in Spain or must I use my MCI calling card? If there are phone cards, are some better than others? Can they be used in all public phones. I need to call London while I'm in Cadiz... is that possible with a phone card?

I was just in Spain and purchased a phone card in an Amex office. I used it to call the states and Puerto Rico. I didn't use them in public phones , but in the hotel phone but don't see why you couldn't do it on a public phone.

Newspaper quiosks have a number of different branded phone cards, generally starting at 6 euros. ads showing rates are posted.

The cheapest ones are those from "TELEFONICA" (6 or 12 euros). You can buy them from most newstands, and they work in all public phones.

Thanks for the info... will I be able to use those phone cards to call an 800 # in the U.S., while in Spain?
