Phone card in Turkey
Hi, We are planning to visit Turkey this fall. On other trips--all in Europe--, we have used the "Europa" phone card to call home. It was not expensive and worked perfectly every time. Is there a similar card available in Turkey? I know we can keep in contact with some friends/family using the Internet, but not all of them are "Netters".
Will appreciate any information. Ciao!! mhm |
I just purchased a card from Tulumba--www.tulumba.com. They seem like a great company so far, they even called to confirm my order. But I haven't used it yet.
I liked that I could buy it now in case I need to call Turkey to confirm anything. You only need a pin they send you via email, but they send a card as well. Good to have in case my cell phone sim card exchange doesn't work out. |
I tried to get the web site but did not appear. Is this a US company selling overseas cards, or a Turkish country selling its cards. I assume that your screen name might mean that you might be in Europe. When do you plan to go and use your card? I'll try the web site again tomorrow. Ciao! mhm

I'm in US, sorry my dashes screwed up the link, here ya go:
www.tulumba.com They are a US-based company selling all things Turkish. I head there in April. |
Hi, Thanks for the "edit" on the Website. I've looked it over and it is quite interesting. The phone card info was very understandable. I hope you will write a comment on the card's use, when you come back from Turkey. We are planning to go in September, so I will hold off buying a card until I hear what you thought of it. Ciao!!mhm

Earlier this year, in February, I inquired about Phone cards in Turkey. A poster--yorkshire--suggested the Tulumba card, but had not used it yet. I am wondering if he has used it and how well it worked for him.
Does anyone else have a suggestion for another type of phone card to be used in Turkey? We are leaving in a month, so am trying to finish up my research. Ciao!mhm |
