Petrabax Tours
Does anyone have experience with Petrabax?

I haven't used them but they have been around a long time. I tried to book something with them a few years ago but the flights ended up being more expensive than listed on their website and the connections involved long layovers. You can call their 800 number and they will tell you whatever you want to know.
They also sell bancotel but I think they charge fee. You would probably be better off buying them from the bancotel website. This is Petrabax's website incase you don't have it. http://www.epetrabax.com/main/index.asp |
They offer a lot of services, including escorted tours, and are geared more toward the first time travelers, smaller groups, families, or those with little experience, and traveling on a budget.
Everyone who sells the BANCOTEL coupons charge a fee, but they are often a great deal. |
Thanks for the info. I plan to book a tour with them for March. I have never traveled with an escorted tour-always independent travel, so don't kmow what to expect. I have traveled extensively, but want to cover a lot of Spain in a short time (2 weeks) so thought a tour would be an easy way for an overview. I will be making my own flight arrangements.

"covering a lot of Spain in a short time (2 weeks)" doesn't say much, except that you will be spending a lot of time traveling around.
If you want to experience Spain, then you should plan on spending the two weeks exploring one area of Spain. March is the perfect time to explore Andalucia and two weeks would give you just about enough time to see a number of spectacular locations. I’m sure Petrabax or some other incoming tour/travel company could arrange an itinerary that would suit your needs if you can’t put one together yourself. You may want to read a few of Maribel’s Guides (http://maribelsguides.com) on the different area’s she covers, or check out Explore Seville (http://www.exploreseville.com/) for more information on Sevilla and what’s happening in the area. |
I too have used Petrabax for Bancotel coupons and had no problems at all with them. But I agree with Robert--you could have them arrange your hotels and such, but for two weeks, trying to see all of Spain sounds much too rushed, at least it would be for me.

You are absolutely right about needing much more time to really enjoy each region. However, since this may be the only chance to see any of Spain, we'll have to settle for a little taste of each place. Thanks for your suggestions-wish we could do more "in depth".
