Pete McCarthy passed away
 

For all you have visited Ireland and like me have read and laughed your way through McCarthy's Bar along the way, you will be sad like me to learn that Pete McCarthy, author and comedian passed away recently from Cancer at the age of 51.

I hope it wasn't from lung cancer related to smoking..or was it?

I'm sorry about that. I enjoyed the book so much. That cow "scene"... what a hoot!

Sad news. His book is a must read for anyone visiting Ireland, especially the SW. It works as a great travel guide, filled with comic relief and insight which is a hard combination to find.
