Pet Relief Area in Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IST)

I will be flying with my dog in cabin from Bishkek to Istanbul, then Istanbul to Boston. The flights I'm considering have the choice of having a 2 hour layover or longer. I am trying to find out if there is an area that can be used for a pet bathroom in Ataturk; I called Turkish Airlines and they said there is nothing, but I have read a lot of accounts of people transiting with pets through the airport and would like to know if there is a place for this even if it's not labeled a "pet relief area", such as an outdoor smoking area or the like. Ultimately I want to decide if I should pause in Istanbul for a few days to allow my dog a rest, or if there will be an ok bathroom space at the airport. Thanks!

I can't find any information so I would opt for the longer layover and leave the airport. If you can afford to stop for a day or two, I'd do that as it would ease the stress on your dog.

I strongly doubt that you could take your dog outside the terminal building and that taking it with you to a bathroom would be an acceptable solution.

Take sparkchaser's recommendation and enjoy Istanbul. Check with your hotel to see if they would be able to take care of the dog while you do your sightseeing.

There are good walks and also ferry rides with stops to give you and your dog opportunities to enjoy being together.

Given security issues doubt you would have any place...tough situation but unless you are interested in visiting Istanbul not sure trying that with a dog is wise and first you need to find a place that ccepts dogs and have never heard of a hotel that would take care of the dog. I imagine people have some method for the transit and may have suggestions.

When will you travel so we can learn your result? I'm very interested because I'm scheduled to fly with an 8 hour layover in Istanbul in a few days. I see that Haneda Airport (Tokyo) has a pet hotel where you can check in your dog on an hourly basis. It would be great to know about Istanbul. Please let us know what you find out.
