Pescara Hotel Suggestions

My Mother and I will be visiting Pescara on the East coast of Italy in June. Does anyone have suggestions on hotels in that area? I have not found very much information on the web.

We are first time travellers to Italy and would also be glad for any tips on reserving train tickets.

Thanks!

We stayed at a lovely place in Spoltore, which just outside Pescara. I believe the hotel name is Montinope. We were actually there for cooking school. It was wondeful.

Thank you for the recommendation! We will be travelling to Pescara from Florence. Would you recommed taking the train down to Rome and than out to Pescara? Did you have a car while you were in the Pescara area?

Thank you.

Italian Shoes - We were part of a group cooking tour so they took care of picking us up in Rome and all the transportation. I think a car would be helpful. The driving seemed much easier than what we experience in other cities. The beach areas was very nice and there are some grat vineyards and farms to visit. We loved the area. I would be happy to dig up my notes and my mom's if you have any other questions on the area. If you do go to Montinope, please let me know. Even if you don't stay at the hotel the restaurant is amazing. The owner is a chef who owes a couple of restaurants in the area.

My husband is in Pescara as we speak; he travels there frequently on business.

He has nothing much to say about Pescara itself, but suggests the Hotel Park Alcione in Francavilla al Mare, next door

So, how did my name end up at the end of the previous post? Spooky or what?

It is spooky, but the answer is that it is my name too.

I think you will find it faster to travel from Florence via Bologna and then down the coast to Pescara, rather than go to Rome and then across.
Enjoy your trip!
