There was a song called Persephone by Wishbone Ash. Did yah know that?

Robespierre Jun 24th, 2006 03:20 PM

I wonder: is the typical Wishbone Ash fan familiar with classical mythology?

sunstar Jun 24th, 2006 03:25 PM

Better question is the typical classical mythology person familiar with Wishbone Ash?

Ah, yes. The nineteen-member four-piece band. It's a study in permutations.

willtravel, I just looked up that book on Amazon, it looks intriguing, have you read it. The first two reviews see opposite views of the author.

WillTravel Jun 24th, 2006 09:54 PM

SeaUrchin, I did read the book. My opinion is that both of those reviews are accurate, if that makes any sense. On the one hand, the author did make travel decisions that were not very smart, to say the least, and some of the things she did could be seen as culturally insensitive. On the other hand, she got herself out there and saw a lot of things and met a lot of people. I'd love to hear your opinion on it.

Well, then, I guess I will have to order it, lol! I have been interested in touring Sicily for a while now and have read a few books but I hadn't heard about this one. I'll tag it onto the end of an order of fiestaware and get free shipping!
Thanks.

OK, I just ordered it, I'll let you know my thoughts.
