Perfect Retirement

My friend sent me a link to an article ‘The Let's-Sell-Our-House-And-See-the-World Retirement’

This article is already being discussed over in the lounge.

If I retire with enough asset, I would totally do that. Though I dont know how they could keep it up for 10-15 years. First 2-3 years may be fun, but once travelling feels like regularity, it could be tiring

I would love to do this when I retire but I won't have the money to do it. Good for them that they saved enough to live their ideal retirement.

There's going to come a time when they just can't keep on moving around like that. I'm envious of their ability to do it at present, but really glad I bought property in Europe 20 years ago and think my plan might end up being a bit more realistic than theirs. I couldn't afford to keep renting month after month for years.

Foodor, I am totally with you...Hope to travel for few years.
We talk of moving to much smaller place (possibly apartment); and travel for 6 month at a time.

I wonder how they're managing the health side. And short term holiday rentals are usually more expensive than longer lets, while the latter would incur local taxes.
