Peloponnese or Mykonos - Please help

We are planning an 8-day trip to Greece in late September. We are looking for an even combination of relaxation, ancient ruins, great restaurants, night life, and traditional Greek towns. We can't decide if we should squeeze Peloponnese in and cut out Mykonos. Please let me know what you think
Athens - 2 days (first day we'll get in too late to site see)
Mykonos - 2 days (or should we replace with Peloponnese?)
Santorini - 2 days
Crete - 2 days (since we are going to Crete, will we get to see plenty of ancient ruins and traditional Greek towns without Peloponnese?)
Thanks for your feedback, Inor

All travel with little time to see anything. If you sticks to islands like Santorini and Mykonos then two days is OK for minimum visit. Peloponnese is large are and you are not going to see much of it in two days - same for Crete.

with 4 widely separated places in 8 day, forget relaxation. What you will get to see plenty of with that schedule are docks, and ferries, and docks and ferries, and docks and ferries.

Hi

I think you're cramming too much in. Don't forget to allow for travel and transfers time. Given your interests vs time factor I would leave Mykonos and the Peloponnese and use the 2 days on the other destinations. Your itinerary could look like:

Day 1: Athens
Day 2: Athens
Day 3: Fly to Crete
Day 4: Crete
Day 5: Crete
Day 6: Ferry to Santorini. Accommodation with caldera view.
Day 7: Santorini
Day 8: Santorini
Day 9: Return to Athens by air. Ideally, align your flight schedules to take flight home so you don't have to spend another day in Athens.

Take it from me-do not follow through with that schedule. I did that same exact itinerary last june, but it was:

Athens: 2 nights
Mykonos: 3 nights
Santorini: 4 nights
Crete: 3 nights

It was all traveling and not enough time to actually enjoy and spend time in each place. You will be annoyed with yourself if you stick with your current itinerary. I would cut out either mykonos or crete and just do Athens, Santorini and Crete -or- Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini.

The Peloponnesean Peninsula is filled with incredible Greek antiquities. Use Napflion as your base for the Mycenae, Corinth, Tyrns.
I love Crete but you need much more time there. You would barely get to know Chania.
If you include Mykonos, you could do a day trip to ancient Delos.
We were ready to leave Santorini after a day, even with a caldera view in Oia. It was packed and also had to deal with cruise ship crowds.
You are planning too many destinations for such a short time.

Trust me, the responses from others are correct - you are planning too many stops in too little time.
Based on your description so far, I think you will be most happy with
Athens - Mykonos - Santorini.

I would cut both Crete and Mykonos, and stick with Santorini, Peloponnese, and Athens. Lots of different opinions here, but we all agree on the same thing — you are trying to do too much. Sometimes less is more, and in this case less travelling will give you more time for sightseeing and relaxation. :-)
