Pecks in Milan

Does anyone know if the restaurant in or associated with Peck's in Milan is good???

Thank you in advance.

It's very touristy, with lots of Americans and English frequenting it. So it depends on whether you want to go there knowing that, or would prefer a more low-key place. I just returned from Milano last night and asked my friends (that live in Milano) about Peck. They said the wines are good there, but pricey, and there were many tourists. Instead, they referred me to some great local places that I enjoyed just as much.

I have lunched twice upstairs at Peck. Its sort of a cafeteria since you can look at the food in glass cases. You are, however, served by waitstaff. I've not found it touristy at all.

Peck's "real" restaurant is called Cracco-Peck and its address is a different one from the store's.

I glanced at a review on another Web site written by an Italian. The bill for two people: 292 Euro (including 40 Euro for mineral water (!!!; not wine).

My point exactly Eloise! That is the Peck's restaurant ehc is referring to.

SeaUrchin, ok I am working on it! Arrived late last night and had to come into work today (Fri) - ugh! Wish I was still there.....sigh

Yikes, to Cracco-Peck!!!!!!! The "cafeteria" sounds just fine. Maybe the USD will be stronger by May. HA, HA, HA!

Ehc:
If you would like something between a cafeteria with wait staff and Cracco-Peck, I can suggest Al Mercante, at piazza Mercanti 17 (quite close to the Duomo, but please don't ask me for precise directions!)

I was only in Milano for the day from Lake Como, but as far as I could tell I was the only tourist having lunch there. All the people around me seemed to be Milanese businesspeople. I wish I could remember what I ate (this was several years ago), but I do recall that I thought it was very good and that the prices seemed quite reasonable for Milan.
